A website is never just a website.

A website brings everything to the surface: your offerings, your audience, your positioning, your systems, your marketing efforts, your dreams for the future. It’s no wonder paralysis and perfectionism tend to keep you from clicking publish.

Around here, we don’t rush through these steps. We begin with deep reflection and strategy, so by the time we begin design, I know exactly what I’m building and why.

Your website is a tool for unlocking potential, reclaiming digital sovereignty, and building creative livelihood.

Your very own plot of pixels.

Maybe your best work exists on your Substack, in your ceramics studio, in your strategic frameworks, in your podcast conversations, between the covers of your books…It’s there, but scattered. Or invisible. Or built on shifting platforms.

Your website is a you-shaped container to hold it all. A single place you can point to that looks, feels, and functions exactly the way you want it to. Your work deserves a stable, cohesive hub, outside the whims of any algorithm.

Hey, I’m Ellen. And I like making things.

Websites, yes. But over the years I’ve also made screen-printed pillows, murals, watercolors from foraged pigments, a cute co-working space, a collection of sewn goods, and two small humans. (My creative work takes many shapes.)

I’ve worked for a literacy nonprofit and a tech startup, served as Managing Editor for an art book publisher in NYC and Director of Marketing for a sewing education brand in Portland, Oregon. I began sketching web layouts with sharpie on butcher paper before I was familiar with the term "user experience."

I love partnering with people weaving business and creative work together. And I believe in the power of a well-designed website to help them thrive.

New Shapes is…

  • 01

    • An attitude of playfulness that dreams beyond one-size-fits-all templates, scripts, formulas, and “shoulds” of all stripes

  • 02

    • Permission to reshape your relationship to work, time, and attention (and to use your website as a site of experimentation)

  • 03

    • A lump of digital clay

  • 04

    • A willingness to accept change as a constant in business and life—adapting, evolving, and shape-shifting whenever necessary

  • 05

    • A belief in the power of digital world-building to create deeper connection, right-fit magnetism, and bountiful enoughness

  • 06

    • That fertile place where brass tacks strategy meets creative vision and amorphous ideas take clear shape

  • 07

    • An opportunity to bridge the gap between the current reality and the most beautiful future you can imagine

This world needs what you’re building.
